Looking for ownership of a website? Try these two tips:
1) In the web address (URL), delete everything after the top-level domain to get to the “home” page; e.g., http://www.sfmuseum.org/hist5/dodge.html becomes http://www.sfmuseum.org.
2) If the “home” page does not supply enough information, copy the URL. Then go to http://easywhois.com to look for the owner of the domain name. You can then use search engines to learn more about the owner, if necessary.
