Hi, Sherry! Thanks for your response! I'll be visiting your posts soon! You make a great point with what your son is doing... and even knowing that a wiki would be a great idea for collaborating with others shows how much he knows he CAN do. That's amazing!

Glad you commented... thanks for stopping by!

What powerful posts you have. I am thrilled that I found you through CoolCatTeacher's post on bringing educators together. I have taught in a few districts for brief periods of time and you have truly hit the nail. We have so many students at so many different levels of ability. How do we change that? How do we try to make sure as educators and parents that each students has equal footing. I believe a one to one initiative just might be the way to go for many districts. If they even acknowledge that the divide exists. As an example, my children have always had access to computers. They have been fortune enough since they day they were born that my jobs always required computer access and that I have been a geek since being an undergrad. My son is currently doing a book report by creating a web page. Now how cool is that! He asked me how to create a wiki so that students can comment on his book as well. One fortune child that has a mom that loves web 2.0 and is blessed enough to be able to make technology a priority in the home. What about the other's who are not so fortunate? I love posts that intrigue me and make me think and you have certainly done so here. Thanks for the great post. I hope you'll come visit my blog sometime, we address similar issues from different perspectives. Shegstrom-CompTechTeacher.
